Classic BLT

Ok so everyone knows how to make a BLT. I am sharing this though because it's about how to take this sandwich to the next level with buying FRESH, in-season GOOD ingredients. That's all there is to it. ALSO I am posting because if you're thinking of something simple and easy to make but didn't know what....here's your inspo & reminder for a classic.

Ingredients: (for 2 sandwiches)

- 5 strips thick cut peppered bacon (2.5 each slice)

- Tuscan Italian Bread Loaf (fresh)

- Bib lettuce

- Black Heirloom tomato (large cut thin)

- Mayonnaise

- Parmesan

- Salt and Pepper

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2. While the oven is heating, add the bacon -- leave in until crisp - about 7-10 minutes - then remove and drain on paper towel.

3. Cut the pieces of bread - layer with mayonnaise on both sides, on the bottom half put the tomatoes down - then add a little bit of salt and pepper on top of the tomato slices.

4. Layer 2.5 strips bacon per sandwich on top of the tomatoes, then add the bib lettuce.

5. Get a cast iron pan or grill pan heating with some butter.

6. Add a little more mayo to the outside of the sandwich and sprinkle on some parmesan (this adds flavor and makes it perfectly golden) and put face down into the hot butter in the pan. Press down or put something heavy on top to brown the sandwich and condense it. Keep an eye on it for it not to burn. Before you flip - add a little more butter to the top and sprinkle a little more parmesan then flip until golden on the other side.

Slice and Serve!!!
