Columbus Food Scene

I frequent Columbus a lot for work - so I had to add this great city on here. Here is a list of tried and true restaurants to check out next time you're in the area!

I ended up at North Market by mistake -- my coworker and I googled a great taco joint and it led us to this building. When we walked in - I knew we just found an absolute GEM. These indoor markets are some of my favorite places to be, explore and try out. There are several different stands - everything you could ever imagine or want to eat. We went for lunch - and I wish I would have went a different day/time when I had way more time to walk around and shop. There are specialty cheese and meat restaurants in there - along with amazing wine, coffee, ice cream and pretzel vendors. Make sure to visit this place, it's amazing ! There is community seating upstairs once you pick out your food --

Suggest: Brunch, Happy Hour or Dinner

I love the atmosphere here. It's on an old paved road in German Village and has the high-end but casual feel all at the same time. It's always busy and crowded. They have an awesome Happy Hour which I always try to make it there for - because Lindey's is decently expensive. However, on the HH menu -they have a good wine selection - and amazing appetizers! Items I have tried and LOVED are: Potstickers, Tempura Cauliflower and the Salmon. I get one of these items every time I go - they're that good... I am always working during breakfast hours - but hear they have some of the very best brunch options!

Milestone has some of the best salads I have had. This place is upscale and busy -- but not too upscale where it's not comfortable. This place comes with good views and valet available for parking. You will need to make a reservation for sure. Each time I go - I get the same salad - which is sort of unlike me because I like hearty food -- that's gotta tell you what you need to know!

I love small cozy casual places with a pizza oven - that's all there is to it. This place had the most amazing staff - the gentlemen who made our pizza - served it to us and explained the toppings and how he cooked it better than any fancy restaurant I have been to. This small place delivered big on experience. They are constantly changing out their pizza of the day which I think is fun! I am a classic pepperoni gal - but have seen all the amazing pizzas they make and WOW!

This is a Diner Drive-in & Dive shop -- so I always make an effort to check these out. This place is literally a hole in the wall inside a bar - it took me and a group of 4 people to figure out it wasn't its own stand alone place - rather a order-up-window inside Wunderbar for at least 20 minutes. It was very DDD style. The Pirogis were awesome - they had several different kinds. The potato and cheese were awesome - those are my jam. I would recommend trying this out for something different!

Sweet Carrot is another Diner Drive-in & Dive joint -- it is sort of off the beaten path of the city - but only like a 12 minute drive or so. My coworkers weren't happy with my driving -- or parking (lol) - beware it's an odd parking situation haha!

The food is BBQesque and they had really good food. You order at the cash register and pay - then go and sit down and wait for your food. I would definitely recommend!
